Social platform X, formerly known as Twitter, wants to discuss how it could be affected by a new law governing how minors’ information is collected online. A pharmaceutical cold storage company in Kelowna, B.C. bought a facility to store at least 25 million pounds of fruit that would otherwise have been wasted. Now it wants federal funding to keep the operation going. And doctors’ colleges from all 13 provinces and territories want it to be easier for physicians to practice across provincial and territorial borders.
Those are just some of the insights from the IJF’s roundup of lobbying registrations at the federal level and in every province across Canada. Each week, the IJF publishes data from our four lobbying databases showing who wants laws changed and who is asking for government money. Think of it as your weekly dose of public policy news before it becomes news.
