In 2020, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) signed a $480,000 contract with a small information technology (IT) consultancy called Veritaaq Technology House. That contract was amended three times and ended up costing $1.3 million, almost a three-fold increase.

A contract from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) with IBM was signed at $2.6 million in late 2020. It was later revised to $7.5 million.
