Last week, for the second time since taking office, Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim voted to send millions of city dollars to Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) — an entity that awards annual contracts to a private company he owns.
Sim is the sole director of Nurse Next Door, which provides in-home care services and medical support. VCH has paid Nurse Next Door and its franchises more than $13 million over the last five years to help alleviate staffing shortages.
