Nearly 40 per cent of student visa applications from India have been rejected for the vague reasons “other” and “unspecified,” the highest rate of any country.
When student visa applications are rejected by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), a clear reason is usually given, such as suspicions that the applicant won’t leave Canada or an application that’s inconsistent with their background. But India, the country with the most student visa applicants to Canada, stands out in the number of applications given an unspecified refusal.
