Mining companies have ramped up lobbying efforts after Ontario passed new industry-friendly amendments to its Mining Act earlier this year.

Seventeen companies, including Vale Canada, Agnico Eagle Mines and Electra Battery Materials, have been lobbying the Ford government for more support for their mining operations as well as generally more favourable mining policies.
