Canada’s lobbying commissioner is planning on bringing in a weaker code of conduct for lobbyists that would shrink the required boundaries between lobbyists and politicians.
“The changes will gut ethical lobbying rules in ways that will allow secret, corrupt favour-trading between lobbyists and federal politicians,” according to an open letter signed by David Suzuki and 25 civil society groups, including the BC Civil Liberties Association.
