The IJF is a member of a consortium of news outlets around the world that have spent the past nine months investigating how some of the biggest companies in the world have tried to stall, delay or kill legislation aimed at regulating them.

The investigation, The Invisible Hand of Big Tech, is led by Brazil’s Agência Pública and the Centro Latinoamericano de Investigación Periodística. It examines the lobbying tactics of technology companies across the world, including how they make relationships with public officials, sway public opinion, fund institutes and even finance research to advance policy goals.
