Apurva Bhat is a Toronto-based reporter with a bachelor of journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University. With four years of experience covering hard news, features, broadcast, fashion and entertainment, she has dabbled in it all. Her passion, however, lies in storytelling, which was further affirmed when she was awarded the Derek Rider Award of Storytelling Excellence during her time at TMU.

Apurva was born and raised in Dubai and moved to Toronto in 2021. Her experiences as an immigrant and person of colour in Canada have been a huge part of her identity and work. In her spare time, you can find Apurva practicing movement, reading and exploring different restaurants and cities.
