Unionized actors are asking the federal government to change its procurement policies after receiving a casting call seeking non-union performers for a Royal Canadian Mint commercial.

The Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA), which represents more than 30,000 actors in Canada, has been in a two-year labour dispute with some of Canada’s major ad agencies, represented by the Institute of Canadian Agencies (ICA).
