Gurkirat is a third-year Computer Science student at Humber Polytechnic. At IJF, he focuses on optimizing frontend performance, building database scrapers and other technical endeavours. His technical interests include AI, backend systems and startup technology. He has worked on projects ranging from AI-powered developer tools to blockchain and community platforms, and regularly participates in hackathons. He won Hack Western 2024 as a solo participant and later won GenAI Genesis 2025 with a team. He loves playing traditional string instruments such as the Taus and Dilruba, and also plays the percussion instrument Tabla. On weekends, you’ll probably find him on a badminton court or caught up in a good book. If you need a recommendation, his current favorite is Dark Matter by Blake Crouch.
