A record number of complaints against Toronto police officers are going uninvestigated for unclear reasons, according to an analysis by the Investigative Journalism Foundation.

Between 2014 and 2019 fewer than 200 complaints per year were tossed out for being “not in the public interest.” In 2021, the last year Toronto police released data, it peaked at 300.
