Lobbying related to nuclear energy has skyrocketed in the past four years, with registrations increasing by more than 12 times in 2024 compared to 2021. 

In 2021, there were 16 lobbying registrations or updates that dealt with “nuclear energy,” “nuclear power,” “small modular reactors” or “SMRs” in the registries of the federal government, five provinces and one territory. By contrast, 205 registrations discussed the same topics in 2024.
