Telecommunications giant Nokia met with top Canadian officials this year to discuss a potential partnership with the government on artificial intelligence infrastructure.

A briefing note prepared for Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) says Nokia Canada president Jeffrey Maddox requested a meeting with government officials to discuss provisions in the 2024 budget, which earmarked $2.4 billion to fund artificial intelligence research and infrastructure.
