A B.C. real estate lawyer whose name has been linked repeatedly to an alleged fraudulent mortgage scheme has had her licence suspended eight times in the last seven months and now faces the prospect of disbarment, the IJF has learned.
All eight of Rohita Pannu’s suspensions remain in place, according to court documents filed earlier this month by the Law Society of B.C. The reasons for those suspensions have not been made public, but Pannu is also the subject of two disciplinary citations from the law society alleging professional misconduct. One alleges wrongdoing during a property sale and the other asks for her to be disbarred for failing to cooperate with an investigation into her practice.
