The Canadian electric utility company Fortis has been the second-largest corporate donor to Newfoundland and Labrador’s political parties since the province’s 2021 general election, according to the IJF’s analysis of party financial disclosures.

Fortis and its subsidiary Newfoundland Power, the province’s primary electric power provider, donated $150,350 to the Liberal and Progressive Conservative parties of NL.
