Smugglers are sneaking contraband into Canadian prisons using diversions, camouflage and custom drones to dupe prison guards, according to a federal report.

The 2024 report produced by Correctional Service Canada (CSC) said prisons across the country have noted a “consistent” increase in the use of uncrewed aerial vehicles — commonly called drones — to smuggle goods into prisons.
