Saskatchewan is a land of living skies, expansive prairies and unlimited political donations.

The province stands out as one of the few jurisdictions in Canada that allows political donations from any person or entity in the country, and which has no regulation on the amount of money that can be donated to a political party or election campaign.

Here’s a look at last year’s biggest donors in the “Wild West” of Saskatchewan political financing.

The Saskatchewan Party took in the most contributions in 2025 with more than $2.2 million. While the official opposition NDP trailed with $1.5 million in donations, the party received the largest single individual, corporate and union donations.

Corporate donations to political parties in 2025 also showcase the limits of Saskatchewan’s political financing disclosure. Most of the companies on the top donor list have little or no public profile online, and without paying to access corporate registration documents it’s nearly impossible to identify who is behind these contributions.

Registration documents for the numbered Saskatchewan company that made the highest donation list Will Leach of Regina as president and director and lawyer G. Gregory Willows as the sole shareholder and trustee.

Brandt Tractor is owned by members of the Semple family, also among the top individual donors to the Saskatchewan Party.

Agincourt Investments is registered as a corporation in Alberta, and the provincial company registration lists Gordon Rawlinson, owner and CEO of Saskatchewan broadcaster Rawlco Radio, as the primary contact. Saskatchewan corporate registration documents also list Gordon Rawlinson as the sole shareholder of Tropical Way Properties.

Airwaves Radio is registered in Ontario, and lists Douglas Rawlinson, Gordon’s brother and executive vice president of Rawlco Radio, as the sole director.

Four other companies connected to the Rawlinson family also made large donations to the Saskatchewan Party in 2025.
