Tech companies are pushing the B.C. government to weaken proposed protections for gig workers as the province mulls how to regulate platforms like Uber, DoorDash and Lyft.
Labour Minister Harry Bains announced last year that his government would introduce new work standards for such workers including a minimum wage and coverage for when workers are injured on the job.
