Indigenous and Northern communities in Ontario have been disproportionately affected by increases in ambulance wait times since the pandemic began, according to a new analysis from the IJF.
Regions with an Indigenous population higher than 2.9 per cent, which is the overall Indigenous population in Ontario, saw an increase of 2 minutes 21 seconds on average between 2015 and 2022. Their average pre-pandemic wait time was 7 minutes 59 seconds.
