Alberta’s Ministry of Environment and Protected Areas appears to have sent only one delegate to the COP30 climate convention — a former lobbyist for Canada’s largest oil and gas producers.

A group of non-profit organizations has recently claimed that one in every 25 participants at this year’s UN climate talks in Brazil is a lobbyist for the fossil fuel industry. This includes several industry heads who were picked to join Canada’s 240-person delegation.
