African students are over five times more likely to be denied a visa to study in Canada than European ones, according to data obtained by the IJF.

Over the past eleven years, Canada has refused 67.2 per cent of applications from African countries while refusing only 11.6 per cent from Europe in the same period. Students and experts say that this is discrimination against African students, who also have to provide additional proof of their finances and intentions.
